Are You Ready For Some Football?!?!

Thank you to parents and students for reporting to the district the concerning/threatening behavior seen on social media posts. The reports of these posts by a juvenile who is not an LISD student led to the apprehension of the firearm without incident today. Student safety remains our utmost priority.

Luling ISD was placed on lockdown at 12:40pm to 1:35 pm today due to a disturbance at Gerdes Junior High. A GJHS staff member recovered a firearm in the secure entrance of the building from a juvenile who is not an LISD student. He did not gain entry into the hallways. There are now 3 suspects in police custody. All Luling staff acted swiftly and followed safety protocol which resulted in all students and staff members remaining safe. We will follow regular dismissal procedures at the end of the school day today.

There was a report of a disturbance on the LISD property, so all campuses were placed on lockdown. Police are on scene and handling the situation. All students are safe.
