Shanklin students write in every content! Writing across the curriculum is a very effective way to learn the content.

And the winner of the Purple Out Toiletry Drive to benefit Hays Caldwell Women’s Center is Ms. Amundsen’s fifth grade class, with a close second place from Ms. Barnwell’s second grade class. Shanklin Elementary donated over 1,000 items to the toiletry drive!

Shanklin Elementary had an Accelerated Reader Pep Rally today to kick start this reading program! We want all kids to read daily! AR makes it fun and gives the students the ability to earn points and prizes the more they read!

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness, Shanklin students are learning about assertive communication which is a protective factor against many unhealthy interactions, and they are still bringing toiletries to support the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center toiletries drive.

October is National Domestic Violence Prevention Month. Luling ISD will be supporting prevention by wearing purple all day October 8th!
