A huge thanks to the Luling Fire Department for presenting all about fire safety to our Shanklin Eagles, and for letting them check out your firefighting equipment and truck! They were so excited and learned lots.

Congratulations to our Shanklin Staff Member of the Month: Debbie Longmire! She is such a shining star on our campus, helping each and every student to make the very best out of every day! Her unwavering smile and positivity truly embody what it means to be a Shanklin Eagle!

Students love earning a "stuffy desk buddy" when they work hard on their daily math problem, show their work, and use new strategies!

Our educators participated in Seidlitz training focused on building academic vocabulary and using structured conversation frameworks to help students engage, communicate, and learn at higher levels.
A huge thank you to Adrian for providing job embedded coaching and supporting our teachers right where the learning happens!

Just a reminder! Friday is a student holiday, followed by a staff and student holiday on Monday. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!

Join us in celebrating Homecoming week next week with these dress up days! Go Eagles!!!

Happy National Custodian Appreciation Day!
This morning, our Central Office team made the rounds with breakfast to celebrate the incredible custodians who take such great care of our schools every day!
Because our custodians have staggered schedules, we couldn’t catch everyone for a picture—but don’t worry, we made sure everyone got breakfast! 😊 Some of our amazing team may be missing from the photos, but they are definitely not missing from our appreciation.
Thank you to our custodial team for everything you do behind the scenes and all across Luling ISD. We appreciate you more than you know!

Weather & Dismissal Update!

Last night we celebrated our students who earned a perfect score of 10 on their 2026 STAAR Writing!
Not a good score. Not even a great score. But a PERFECT SCORE! These students demonstrated exceptional writing skills and should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
A special thank you to Patterson Plumbing for providing the awesome yard signs for our Perfect 10 students!

Updated Traffic Pattern and Dismissal Line Closure Information-Changes start September 28th!
Please see the attached map for the new traffic flow for PK-2nd Grade.
The PK-2nd grade line begins a the corner of Laurel and Houston. Please do not "cut" the line by entering Houston from Pecan, Cypress, or Walnut. Those who "cut" the line, may not have their tags entered in the Carline App, therefore your child will not be available and you will need to circle back to the end of the line, or pull in to park and wait for your child to become available.
The other major change that will take effect on September 28th will be the end of the dismissal procedure.
Effective September 28th, rerouting to the front of the PK-2 line will be discontinued. There will be a hard stop time for car line. Cars arriving after the stop time must park and walk to the office to pick up their child. The line duration will be monitored to establish a reasonable dismissal time, which will be communicated once determined.
A cone will be placed behind the last car to be served in both lines, and any car arriving after the cone is placed will need to check out their child from the front office.

Our SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Committee) had an amazing turnout for the 1st meeting of the year! 💚 If you were unable to attend & still want to get involved, please reach out to Mrs. Aldis for info on upcoming events! Info on next meeting will be shared soon!

Don't forget: we will have early release on Thursday, September 24th, and no school on Friday, September 25th!

The best way to review for an assessment... with a math review party! Lots of engagement and fun in 5th grade as we conquer fractions!

Just a reminder! Students will have early release, followed by no school the next day while our staff participates in professional learning to continue to improve what we do for students!
