Mrs. Murray - Shanklin Elementary Counselor
Welcome Back to School!
We now are officially a "No Place For Hate" recognized campus for 2017-2018!
Hello Eagle family! My name is Mrs. Murray and I am the counselor at Shanklin Elementary. It’s a tremendous honor to continue to serve the Luling community this school year.
I have been a counselor for 18 years and have been working in the field of education for a total of 24 years. I am excited to be able to share my counseling knowledge and background with you and your children.
I will be working on our campus in a variety of capacities. One of my biggest joys is providing classroom guidance about various social and behavioral topics such as: character education, peer pressure, managing stress, anti-bullying, friendship skills and other topics. I will also be conducting some small counseling groups during the year. I have limited spots for individual counseling but would be happy to provide a list of mental health resources at parent request for ongoing therapeutic needs.
Additionally, I will continue to work closely with another student support program at Shanklin called Communities In School (CIS). They are also available for social service and counseling needs. If you would like more information about this program, I can refer you to our campus CIS Site Coordinator, Amanda Matthews.
For more information on my counseling program, please visit my full webpage at http://shanklincounselor.edublogs.org/
Please let me know if I can assist you in any way. I look forward to working with your children!
