Welcome Mrs. Deborah Ewald, Shanklin Elementary Principal

Luling ISD is delighted to introduce Mrs. Deborah Ewald as the principal at Shanklin Elementary School. Mrs. Ewald, a graduate of Southwest Texas State University, holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s of Education degree in Elementary Education. With nearly 30 years’ experience in public education, Mrs. Ewald brings a depth of knowledge and skill to the principalship at Shanklin. During her career, she has served as a director of special education, an elementary principal, an elementary assistant principal, and an elementary classroom teacher. As a campus leader, Mrs. Ewald focuses on fostering open communication, honoring divergent thinking, providing prescriptive intervention, continually reviewing data, and employing staff members who share a common vision. Campuses under her leadership have earned Recognized status and Gold Performance Acknowledgements. Please welcome Mrs. Ewald as the new instructional leader at Shanklin.

Principal's Challenge Spelling Program

All students at Shanklin Elementary will participate in the weekly Principal's Challenge Spelling Program! Over the course of the year, our students will learn how to spell 800 of the most common words in the English language. Each week the students will practice 25 words and take a test on Friday morning. Follow the link to see this week's words!
